Emo Fashion #1: Band Tees

There's this song by a horrible, terrible, truly awful band that no sane person likes called BrokeNCYDE. The song is called "Band Tee." Why anyone would want to write a song about an article of clothing is beyond me (such deep subject matter), but I would guess that it's because a band tee is the basis of all emo outfits. If you don't know what to wear, or you're simply feeling lazy, a band tee is your best bet. As the song says so eloquently, "I got my band tee on. I got my skinny jeans on. And I'm ready to roll."

Let me demonstrate with the following pictures the simplicity and beauty of the classy and undoubtedly emo band tee. You may need a good eye and knowledge of various bands to be able to tell what band is on each shirt.

On ladies:

A lovely lady rocking a Chelsea Grin tee.

Another lovely lady wearing pop-punk band Hey Monday's tee.

Another lass wearing a band tee; this time an Apocalyptica shirt circa Worlds Collide. Note that Apocalyptica is not an emo band; however, band tees are emo enough that it doesn't matter what band it is. So long as it isn't the Jonas Brothers. That's just not cool. Ever.

And this girl has chosen to wear a The Used shirt; possibly one of the most famously emo bands ever.

Ah, We The Kings! An excellent choice. This is actually a very creative picture, particularly for a mirror picture.

On lads:

This L look alike is wearing an Alexisonfire tee. A little difficult to tell, but it's there. You can clearly read "fire."

And this is none another than a My Chemical Romance tee, the upper left part of their Black Parade era logo clearly visible. No other band is considered quite as emo as My Chemical Romance, even if they don't consider themselves emo.

Not quite as well known as MCR, but still popular in their own right, this man is wearing an Emarosa shirt.

Ah, one of my all-time favorite bands, and I'm not the only one; British band Bring Me The Horizon are very popular these days and are scheduled to play Warped Tour this year.

This lad is wearing metal band Knights Of The Abyss' shirt.

And there you have it; band tees. The most basic article of clothing for every emo.

Look Away From The MIrror: A Reminder

Hey guys, just reminding you that emo isn't about style or fashion. It's about music first. Don't ever forget that. This blog is just for fun.
